Meet your collaborator!

Matt (aka Best Friends Club) has had their music streamed 7+ million times and placed on 20+ official Spotify/Apple playlists including New Music Friday Dance, NMF Canada and Outliers.

With placements in H&Ms and Starbucks & support from artists like Laurent Garnier, Jooris Voorn, Martin Garrix, and Romy (of The XX), Matt uses his 20+ years of music production and industry experience to create a collaborative environment that's both fun & welcoming while being obsessively results driven.

Will we actually be releasing our finished collab?

Yes! One of the coolest things about this is that since we'll actually be making a real song with both our names on the credits, Matt is completely committed to making sure the production sounds as high quality as possible & that the song gets released and heard by as many people as possible.

Together we will decide on the exact strategy, but this can include:

- Pitching the song to record labels and DJs for support

- Releasing a version on the Best Friends Club YouTube channel

- Filming a track breakdown of our collab for the Best Friends Club YouTube channel (you can be included in the video as much or little as you want)

How long does the program last? What is the schedule?

The program usually takes 4 weeks but an additional 5th week may be needed to wrap things up. The schedule looks something like this:

First call: playing around with Reference/Hook combos, preparing our project file and getting a first draft of the loop completed.
Second call: finalizing the loop and finishing a basic arrangement
Third call: finalizing the arrangement
Fourth call: mixing/mastering & planning the release

How soon can we start?

We're currently only accepting 3 applicants at a time and spots open up every 3 to 4 weeks. Shortly after applying, Matt will review your application and reach out to you to customize the details with you depending on the quality of your application.

When do the 1-on-1 live calls happen?

Matt's availability is usually Tuesday to Friday from 10AM EST to 4PM EST but can vary due to gigging and travel. After accepting your application, we'll find a time to meet once per week that fits both of our schedules. That said, things will be chill as hell, so if we need to move calls around it's no big deal - just give me as much notice as you can! :)

What experience or gear do I need?

Any amount of experience is acceptable - Matt is committed to doing most of the heavy lifting but the more you're able to contribute to the collab the better the final product will be!

We use Ableton 12 Suite for producing, Zoom for live calls, and Dropbox for easy sharing of & collaborating on the project files.

Please Note: Only accepting 3 applicants at a time.
